Scientific Program

Join us in Cádiz for a dynamic program featuring world-class keynotes, symposia, and interactive workshops. Our schedule is designed to foster innovation and collaboration in the fields of behavioral nutrition and physical activity.

At ISBNPA, we believe that how we share our research is just as important as the research itself. Our annual meeting features a mix of traditional scientific sessions and dynamic, interactive formats that encourage deep-dive discussions and creative problem-solving. From high-energy oral presentations to collaborative workshops, the session types listed below are designed to foster a vibrant intellectual environment. Please select the format that will best facilitate meaningful connection with your peers and advance the global conversation on health behaviors.

Our workshops at the ISBNPA Congress in Cádiz are designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and practical skill development in the fields of behavioral nutrition and physical activity. Each interactive 4-hour session provides participants with the opportunity to engage deeply with cutting-edge methodologies, emerging research approaches, and real-world applications. Through hands-on activities, group discussions, and collaborative problem-solving, attendees will exchange ideas, build new partnerships, and develop actionable strategies to advance both research and practice.

The One-to-Watch sessions spotlight exceptional students and early-career researchers who are making notable contributions to the fields of behavioral nutrition and physical activity. Each session is 30 minutes long and provides a platform for emerging talent to present their work, share innovative ideas, and engage with the broader research community. These sessions highlight promising voices and foster connections between the next generation of researchers and experienced professionals.

Symposia sessions at the ISBNPA Congress offer an in-depth exploration of key topics in behavioral nutrition and physical activity. Each session is 75 minutes in length and begins with a 10-minute introduction by the Chair, who sets the context and objectives for the session. This is followed by three 15-minute presentations that present complementary perspectives, research findings, or innovative approaches. The session concludes with a 20-minute discussion led by a Discussant, fostering critical reflection, synthesis of ideas, and active engagement with the audience. Presenters are expected to adhere carefully to their allocated time to ensure a smooth, balanced, and interactive session experience for all participants.

This symposium is designed as a debate-style session combining two focused presentations with an interactive discussion component. The session will begin with a 10-minute introduction by the chair, outlining the key background and questions. This will be followed by two 20-minute presentations offering complementary or contrasting perspectives on the topic. The symposium will conclude with a 25-minute moderated debate and audience discussion. This format aims to stimulate scientific discussion, highlight areas of consensus and disagreement, and identify priorities for future research in behavioral nutrition and physical activity.

Dare2Share sessions are structured to promote interactive, participatory, and innovative engagement beyond traditional scientific symposia. They aim to enhance knowledge exchange and strengthen connections within the ISBNPA community by fostering collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful dialogue. Using creative formats, these sessions facilitate discussions and interactions that may not occur in standard conference settings. Sessions are designed to last up to 80 minutes.

Oral presentations, including award sessions, provide an opportunity to showcase high-quality research and innovative approaches in behavioral nutrition and physical activity. Each presentation is 10 minutes in length, followed by 2 minutes of discussion, allowing for focused exchange and engagement with the audience. Presenters are kindly asked to prepare their talks to fit within the allocated time to ensure a well-organized and smoothly running program.

Short oral presentations provide a concise and focused platform to showcase emerging research and innovative practice in behavioral nutrition and physical activity. Each presentation is 5 minutes in length, followed by 1 minute of discussion, allowing for brief but meaningful engagement with the audience. Presenters are asked to adhere carefully to the time limit to ensure balanced participation and a well-structured program.

The poster viewings create an interactive space for networking, feedback, and scientific dialogue in an open and engaging atmosphere.

Posters will be displayed for viewing for the 3 days of the Annual Meeting. Regular abstracts take the stage on Thursday and Friday, while Wednesday is reserved for the posters of the Late-Breaking abstracts. The Poster viewings will take place three times a day on Thursday and Friday: dedicated sessions provide participants with the opportunity to explore current research projects and innovative practice approaches in behavioral nutrition and physical activity.

During the poster sessions, authors should be available at their posters for questions, discussions, and professional exchange
