Welcome to Cádiz: The Silver Cup

Discover the oldest continuously inhabited city in Western Europe.

Nestled on a narrow peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic, Cádiz offers ISBNPA 2026 delegates a unique blend of ancient history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking coastal views.

3,000 Years of History

Founded by the Phoenicians around 1100 BC, Cádiz (ancient Gadir) has been a gateway between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic for millennia. Wander through the Barrio del Pópulo, the medieval quarter, or visit the Roman Theatre, one of the largest ever discovered in Spain. The city’s “Golden Age” in the 18th century left a legacy of grand watchtowers and neoclassical palaces that define the skyline today.

The Cathedral

Known as the "Cathedral of the Americas," its golden tiles shimmer over the ocean. Don't miss the Poniente Tower for a panoramic 360° view of the city.

Castillo de Santa Catalina

A 17th-century star-shaped fortress jutting into the sea. It now serves as a cultural space with beautiful sunset views over La Caleta.

Castillo de San Sebastian

Reachable via a scenic stone causeway, this historic island fortress sits on a site of ancient legend and offers unique, 360-degree views of the Atlantic horizon.

A Taste of the Atlantic
